Our market
Based on our assessment, the total value of software for mobile telephones across the world in 2007 amounted to USD 8 billion. This sum includes both program development and integration. A large part of this amount was developed by and will become a source of income for mobile telephone manufacturers. Another large portion goes to platform providers. Presently, we estimate that approximately 15 percent of that amount goes to suppliers of services and solutions, e.g. Berazy. Of this 15 percent, Berazy has a market share of 15 percent, which means that we are the largest independent supplier of services and software in this field. During 2007, we identified several new trends that we are monitoring as a part of our strategy:
- Telephone manufacturers are expanding their business to include services, and internet companies are branching out into mobile products and platforms.
- Continued pricing pressure but also increasing differentiation when evaluating services: a need for a flexible combination of services with a high level of added value and low costs
- Increased use of open source software, both in applications (e.g. web browsers) and in platforms (e.g. Android™)
Our market today
Total USD 8 billion (2007). Berazy market share ~15% of independent software companies, ~2% of total software R&D. * According to the company's estimates.
Competition
We have identified two main categories of competition: The first consists of large companies offering a broad range of services, often with a base in India and a focus on low cost bids. The second includes local or regional service companies with limited offshore-capacity. Berazy is unique in that we can offer both onshore and offshore solutions or a combination of these depending on the customer and the product specifications. This flexibility helps us adapt the business to the level of maturity of the technologies used.
